This is book 2 in the series. Please read Demons Do It Better in order to better understand the shenanigans. This book picks up 1 year after the first, with Noah having been adopted into CSG and working as the lone human in the department. All he wants to do is figure out what he really wants to do with his freedom. The only major fly in the ointment is the annoying vampire Andrew. As these two work with Percy, the lucifer, they discover Noah has the ability to manipulate magic which he shouldn't be able to do as a vanilla human. Andrew may be grumpy and annoying, but he is fierce about taking care of those he cares for. This book has all of the banter the first one did. It is a while lot of fun to read the back and forth between all the characters and it balances out the serious nature of the problem they are dealing with. And hellhounds really are a bit crazy! I loved it and can't wait to see what happens as the CSG unravels this convoluted plot to wipe out humanity. I have to say that I really hated how this book ended. It just stopped, with no real resolution to any problems, or issues, that the events in the story introduced. And the declaration of love felt very forced - like the author was at some kind of word count limit and had to put something in to end things quickly.Having said that, the rest of the book was awesome. And I am 100% willing to go on with the series because I’m sure that the plot for the story arc, as a whole, will be resolved in future books.Noah and Andrew were an excellent match. I would have liked to have learned more about why Noah was so fearful of losing control. That seemed more portentous than it was, and felt like maybe it was a plot line that had to be edited out.
